About us
Our company Joseph Fischer Söhne GmbH & Co KG was founded by Joseph Fischer in 1878. Since then, the company has been based in Königstein im Taunus and is now in its fourth generation.
Sons Josef and Anton Fischer continued to run the company before passing it on to the third generation, Anton and Karl Fischer and Margarete Althaus, née Fischer. After the Fischer brothers retired, Margarete Althaus remained with the company, which she ran for several decades with the support of her husband Heinrich Althaus and her children Thomas Althaus and Ursula Althaus-Byrne.
The company is now managed by Thomas Althaus, a certified funeral director and master carpenter, and Ursula Althaus-Byrne. Claudia Althaus-Küpper, Thomas Althaus' wife, has also been part of the team for many years.

We are members of the Bundesverband Deutscher Bestatter (BDB) (federal association of funeral directors) und are allowed to carry the Markenzeichens der Bestatter ) (funeral director trade mark). We are certified according to DIN EN 15017.
