Funeral Costs

What does a funeral cost?
A funeral is not a single product, but the sum of many individual services, which is why we cannot give a lump sum. The type of funeral, the size and organisation of the funeral service are important factors, but the coffin or urn model, the grave site and the gravestone also have an influence on the funeral costs. The total amount will be determined in a detailed discussion about your wishes for the funeral.
In principle, funeral costs can be divided into three areas:
-
Our Funeral Services
This includes our services such as collecting the deceased, hygienic care, dressing and embedding, transfer to the crematorium, liaising with cemetery administrations and parishes. This also includes the coffin and, if necessary, the urn, which you choose from us. We also provide other services, such as contacting authorities (insurance and pension providers) or placing obituaries.
-
Fees
This includes costs for the death certificates and for the grave site, which vary depending on the place of death or burial. In many municipalities, a burial plot can be purchased while the deceased is still alive. Please contact the relevant cemetery administration.
-
Other Services
This includes the placement of the obituary in the daily press as well as florists, speakers and musicians, and the funeral reception or wake, and later also the gravestone.
The total sum is calculated from these three areas. We keep the costs transparent at all times and also point out lower-cost alternatives.
